MtoZ Biolabs' EDTA-free Protease Inhibitor prevents protein degradation duringthe  generation of cell or tissue lysates. It provides broad-spectrum inhibition of endogenous proteases while preserving essential metal ions, ensuring reliable protection for downstream purification and analytical workflows.

Product Overview

During protein extraction and cell lysis, endogenous proteases are rapidly activated and released. Without the addition of protease inhibitors, samples are highly susceptible to degradation, compromising the final analytical outcomes:

1. Rapid Protein Degradation

Serine, cysteine, aspartic, and aminopeptidases are activated immediately upon lysis, causing noticeable cleavage and degradation of target proteins within a short time.

2. Interference with Analytical Results

Proteolysis can blur electrophoresis bands, distort Western blot signals, and affect the accuracy of interaction studies such as Co-IP and pull-down assays.

3. Loss of Post-Translational Modification Information

Degradation may remove or alter PTM-containing regions, leading to biased results in phosphorylation, acetylation, and other modification-based analyses.

4. Decline in Sample Quality During Extended Processing

Persistent protease activity during homogenization, centrifugation, or large-volume handling reduces protein recovery and affects the stability of downstream quantification and detection.

Advantages

✅ Convenient and Reliable

The ready-to-use formulation can be quickly added to lysis buffers, eliminating the complexity and risk of preparing individual inhibitors while ensuring batch-to-batch consistency.

✅ Highly Compatible

The inhibitor is suitable for electrophoresis, Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, mass spectrometry-based proteomics analysis.

✅ Ideal for Metal-Dependent Workflows

MtoZ Biolabs' EDTA-free Protease Inhibitor preserves metal ion integrity, making it fully compatible with His-tag protein purification, metalloprotein studies, and any downstream application sensitive to metal chelators.

✅ Broad-Spectrum Inhibition

The inhibitor can simultaneously suppress key endogenous proteases such as serine, cysteine, aspartic, and aminopeptidases, providing comprehensive protection for protein samples.
