MtoZ Biolabs' Pre-Cast Native Gels are ready-to-use electrophoresis gels designed for the high-resolution separation of native proteins without denaturation, ideal for studies of protein-protein interactions, enzyme activities, and native conformations.

Product Overview

Native gel electrophoresis is essential for studying proteins in their native states, but traditional gel preparation often faces several challenges that impact the quality of results. These challenges include:

1. Limited Separation Range and Resolution

Standard gels with a single concentration or buffer system struggle to achieve clear separation of both very large (>250 kDa) and small (<10 kDa) proteins simultaneously, leading to band compression or smearing.

2. Protein Aggregation or Loss

The denaturation steps involved in traditional gel preparation can alter protein activity, leading to unreliable results, especially for sensitive or low-abundance proteins.

3. Limited Sample Loading Flexibility

Standard sample wells have a limited capacity, requiring multiple loading steps for low-abundance proteins or preparative recovery experiments, which can be tedious and reduce reproducibility.

4. Lack of Standardization

Variations in gel preparation, casting, and storage can lead to inconsistencies, making it difficult to standardize results across experiments.

Advantages

MtoZ Biolabs' Pre-cast Native Gels series provides four highly optimized gel systems to address various protein separation needs based on molecular weight, abundance, and downstream applications.

✅ Bis-Tris Gel System (Neutral pH, High-Performance Choice)

This system maintains a neutral pH (~pH 7.0) during electrophoresis, minimizing protein modification and degradation, making it ideal for low-abundance protein separation and applications that require high protein integrity, such as post-translational modification analysis (PTM), mass spectrometry identification, and protein sequencing. The Bis-Tris Plus pre-cast gel offers larger wells (up to 60 µL per well), ideal for high-resolution separation with larger sample loading.

✅ Tris-Glycine Gel System (Classic Stable Choice)

Based on a classic system with continuous optimization, it provides excellent separation performance and longer stability. Tris-Glycine pre-cast gels are particularly suited for routine analysis and identification of high-abundance proteins, offering reliable, consistent results.

✅ Tris-Acetate Gel System (High Molecular Weight Expert)

Optimized specifically for separating very large molecular weight proteins (40-500 kDa), this gel system efficiently resolves the compression region of high molecular weight proteins, yielding sharp and distinguishable bands.

✅ IEF Pre-cast Gel System (Isoelectric Point-Based Separation)

The IEF pre-cast gels generate a pH gradient for effective protein separation based on their unique pI values.

All pre-cast gels are ready-to-use, ensuring high consistency across batches, sharp band separation, and compatibility with a wide range of electrophoresis systems. These gels also maintain protein activity and integrity, providing accurate and reliable results from the start.
