Product Overview
Accurate bacterial endotoxin testing can be difficult because LAL reagents are not exclusively activated by endotoxin. In some sample systems, non-endotoxin substances may trigger or enhance the coagulation response, making result interpretation less reliable.
1. False-Positive Reactivity
When β-1,3-glucans are present in the reaction system, they can trigger the glucan-sensitive pathway of LAL and generate signals that do not accurately reflect endotoxin content.
