Product Overview

Endotoxin detection is a challenging task, mainly facing the following difficulties:

 

1. Detection of Low Concentrations of Endotoxins

Many products contain very low concentrations of endotoxins, making accurate quantitative measurement difficult with conventional detection methods.

 

2. Presence of Interfering Substances

Endotoxin detection is often interfered with by other biological substances, such as β-glucans, which can affect the accuracy of the results.

 

3. Complexity of Detection Methods

Traditional detection methods are cumbersome and difficult to standardize, making them unsuitable for large-scale production and routine quality control.

 

The kinetic chromogenic method is based on the enzyme activation reaction triggered by endotoxins. Endotoxins activate the C factor in the LAL reagent, which further activates the B factor and the coagulation enzyme precursor. Ultimately, a hydrolyzable chromogenic substrate is formed, releasing a yellow chromogen. The resulting yellow color can be detected by kinetic absorbance reading at 405 nm, enabling the quantitative analysis of endotoxin concentrations.
