MtoZ Biolabs Vero Residual DNA Fragment Detection Kit (2G) (PCR-Fluorescent Probe Method) is designed for the quantitative detection and size distribution analysis of residual Vero host cell DNA fragments in biopharmaceutical intermediates, drug substances, and drug products, supporting safety assessment and regulatory compliance in biopharmaceutical quality control workflows.
Product Overview
In Vero cell-derived biopharmaceutical manufacturing workflows, accurate fragment size characterization is essential for risk-based regulatory evaluation of residual host cell DNA in final products:
1. DNA Fragment Size Distribution Unresolved
Conventional total residual DNA quantification methods do not distinguish fragment size, making it difficult to support risk assessment of residual Vero host cell DNA in accordance with regulatory expectations for biologics derived from continuous cell substrates.
2. Insufficient Sensitivity for Trace DNA Detection
Low-sensitivity assays may fail to detect fg-level residual Vero DNA in highly purified biopharmaceutical samples, increasing the risk of underestimating trace contamination.
3. PCR Inhibition in Biopharmaceutical Matrices
Residual salts, proteins, excipients, detergents, or other matrix-derived inhibitors may interfere with qPCR amplification, causing delayed Cq values or abnormal amplification curves and compromising result accuracy.
4. Limited Specificity for Vero Host Cell DNA
Non-specific primers and probes may cross-react with non-target DNA, reducing assay reliability in production settings involving multiple cell substrates or complex sample backgrounds.
