The MtoZ Biolabs Trace Protein Extraction Kit is designed for extremely limited and highly valuable low-input samples, enabling highly efficient protein recovery and facilitating proteomic analysis of needle-biopsy tissues and small cell aggregates.
Product Overview
Low-input samples obtained from laser microdissection, needle biopsy, or single-cell research are exceptionally valuable; however, conventional protein extraction approaches are often unsuitable for such materials because:
1. Extremely Limited Input
Samples may contain only a small number of cells or microgram-scale tissue. Protein recovery using standard workflows can be markedly reduced, or even undetectable, owing to adsorption to vessel surfaces and losses incurred during sample transfer.
2. Pronounced Non-specific Adsorption
At microscale volumes, proteins readily adsorb to centrifuge tube walls and pipette-tip surfaces, leading to irreversible sample loss.
3. Loss Introduced by Procedural Steps
In traditional multi-step extraction and purification workflows, each step can leave residual material. For low-input samples, cumulative losses can be critical.
4. High Sensitivity Requirements for Downstream Analyses
The recovered trace proteins must be compatible with ultra-sensitive analytical platforms (e.g., single-cell mass spectrometry and ultra-sensitive Western blotting).
