    Untargeted Proteomics Service

Untargeted proteomics is an advanced analytical technique that enables comprehensive and unbiased analysis of proteins in biological samples. Unlike traditional targeted proteomics methods, untargeted proteomics does not rely on specific protein labeling or target selection, offering a more comprehensive and detailed understanding of proteome complexity. By employing high-resolution liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS), this method detects unknown proteins, identifies low-abundance molecules, and quantifies changes in protein expression profiles, providing valuable insights for basic research, disease mechanisms, and drug development.

      Case Study

Case 1: Untargeted Proteomics Reveals the Effects of Schizophrenia and Drug Treatment on Adipose Tissue

This study employed untargeted proteomics coupled with high-resolution mass spectrometry, to analyze the effects of MAM (methylammonium carbamate) induced schizophrenia models and antipsychotic drug treatments on protein expression in adipose tissue. The results showed that both the MAM model and drug treatment significantly altered the expression levels of proteins related to metabolism, inflammation, and energy regulation in adipose tissue, revealing the potential systemic effects of schizophrenia and its treatment on metabolism. This study highlighted the crucial role of Untargeted Proteomics Service in complex disease mechanism research and provided important clues and potential targets for exploring systemic effects and optimizing treatment strategies for schizophrenia.

Case 2Untargeted Proteomics in Plant Development Research

This study utilized HPLC-MS/MS to perform untargeted analysis of the proteome during early leaf development in Arabidopsis thaliana. The analysis revealed dynamic changes in protein expression and regulatory mechanisms. By analyzing protein expression profiles at different developmental stages, the study identified several key proteins related to cell proliferation, differentiation, and metabolism, and constructed a regulatory network for leaf development. This research demonstrated the significant potential of Untargeted Proteomics Service in revealing complex biological mechanisms, providing vital support for plant development research and molecular mechanism exploration.
