MtoZ Biolabs provides a Targeted Metabolites Profiling Service that delivers high accuracy and reproducibility for the quantification of specific metabolites across diverse biological samples. The Targeted Metabolites Profiling Service focuses on a predefined set of metabolites of interest, enabling researchers to obtain precise and sensitive measurements that are directly aligned with specific biological questions or experimental hypotheses. By applying advanced mass spectrometry platforms, targeted metabolomics can selectively detect and quantify specific metabolites within complex mixtures. Moreover, the results can be integrated with other experimental approaches, such as transcriptomics, proteomics, or functional assays, to provide deeper insights into molecular mechanisms and clarify the biological roles of metabolites in health, disease, and treatment responses.
Service at MtoZ Biolabs
At MtoZ Biolabs, targeted metabolomics profiling is carried out through a systematic integration of chromatographic separation and mass spectrometry. Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS) is applied for volatile and thermally stable metabolites, while liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC-MS) is employed for polar and thermolabile compounds. Together, these complementary techniques ensure broad chemical coverage and high analytical resolution. Quantification is achieved using selected ion monitoring (SIM) and multiple reaction monitoring (MRM). SIM enables sensitive tracking of specific ions, while MRM provides highly selective monitoring of precursor-product ion transitions, minimizing background interference. This dual strategy ensures that even low-abundance metabolites can be detected and quantified with confidence.
Our Targeted Metabolites Profiling Service covers a wide range of metabolite classes, including but not limited to:

Sample Submission Suggestions
1. Sample Types
Microbial cultures, cell cultures, animal tissues, plant tissues, animal biofluids, and other biological samples.
2. Storage and Transport
Samples should be snap-frozen and stored at –80°C, shipped on dry ice, and protected from repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
3. Notes
Avoid detergents, salts, preservatives, or other additives that may interfere with mass spectrometry detection.
Clients are encouraged to contact MtoZ Biolabs before sample preparation to receive tailored instructions for their specific project.
