Polyphenols Analysis Service | Targeted Metabolomics

Polyphenols are found in nearly all plants and play a protective role against pests and ultraviolet radiation. The beneficial effects of polyphenols are mainly attributed to their antioxidant properties, as they can act as chain breakers or free radical scavengers depending on their chemical structure. The phenolic hydroxyl group is a common structural feature of polyphenols. In nature, polyphenols are often conjugated with sugars and organic acids. They can be categorized into three groups based on the number of aromatic rings and their binding affinities to different compounds: flavonoids, non-flavonoids, and tannins. Polyphenols have broad-spectrum applicability in preventing serious diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer. They are also widely used as food additives to prevent lipid oxidation, delay the development of off-flavors, and improve color stability in various foods. MtoZ Biolabs offers qualitative and quantitative analysis of polyphenolic compounds, providing foundational research for the content and structural analysis of polyphenols in food and pharmaceuticals.
