Myristoleate, also known as cis-9-tetradecenoic acid, is a monounsaturated fatty acid with a 14-carbon chain and a single double bond located at the 9th carbon position. It is the cis isomer of myristelaidate. One of the major sources of this fatty acid is the seed oil from plants of the family Myristicaceae. Myristoleate has been studied for its potential anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, particularly in the context of joint health. It has gained attention for its proposed role in the treatment of arthritis, where it is thought to contribute to reducing joint inflammation and pain.

MtoZ Biolabs provides a comprehensive myristoleate analysis service to assist researchers in understanding more about this unique fatty acid. We utilizes high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS), a powerful tool for the identification and analysis of chemicals and biological molecules. By ionizing the sample and separating the ions based on their mass-to-charge ratio, HRMS can precisely determine the molecular weight of each ion, allowing for the identification of myristoleate in complex mixtures.
