Lipidome Analysis Service
Lipids are a type of hydrophobic or amphipathic small molecules, including eight categories (LIPID MAPS® system naming) (Fahy et al. 2009): fatty acids (such as linoleic acid, arachidic acid, etc.), glycerolipids (such as TG, DG, etc.), glycerophospholipids (such as PC, PE, PG, PA, etc.), sphingolipids (such as Cer, SM etc.), sterol lipids (such as sterol esters, etc.), glycolipids (such as MGDG, SQDG, etc.), pregnenolone lipids (such as CoA, etc.) and polyethylenes (antibiotics, etc.). Lipids are the main components of biological membrane structures (such as cell outer membranes, mitochondria, exosomes, endoplasmic reticulum, exosomes and other subcells). They are also small signaling molecules and energy substances. Therefore, lipids not only participate in various physiological processes such as growth and development, nerve signal transduction, and photosynthesis, but lipid metabolism disorders are also related to the occurrence and development of various pathologies, such as cardiometabolic syndrome, tumors, neurodegenerative diseases, etc. And plant stress responses such as biotic stress and abiotic stress are closely related. Lipidomics is a subfield of metabolomics, which systematically analyzes the composition and expression change patterns of lipids in organisms. Lipidome analysis service can efficiently study the changes and functions of lipid families and lipid compounds in various biological processes, and then elucidate related biological activity mechanisms and principles.

Figure 1. Example of Lipidomics Analysis
Lipid metabolomics can be divided into targeted lipid metabolomics and non-targeted lipid metabolomics. Targeted lipid metabolomics focuses on one or a few specific lipids, while non-targeted lipid metabolomics is about identifying and identifying as many lipid metabolites as possible in the sample without bias. Analysis is suitable for preliminary basic or discovery research.
Services at MtoZ Biolabs
Leveraging mass spectrometry technology combined with quantitative and pathway analysis, the lipidome analysis service provided by MtoZ Biolabs can accurately qualitatively and quantitatively analyze lipids, induce classification and participate in pathway analysis. Mainly divided into the following two aspects:
1. Untargeted Lipidome Analysis Service
Non-targeted lipidome analysis service can analyze the samples by high performance liquid chromatograph U3000HE Q Exactive Mass Spectrometer, and then annotate them by Lipidmaps database, and then carry out multivariate statistical analysis and pathway analysis, and finally get what kind of lipids, what kind of changing trends, and what kind of biological processes and metabolic pathways they participate in.
2. Targeted Lipidome Analysis Service
Targeted lipidome analysis service can accurately quantify fatty acids, bile acids and acyl carnitine, and then carry out multivariate statistical analysis and pathway analysis.
