    3-β-Deoxycholic Acid Analysis Service

3-β-Deoxycholic acid is a secondary bile acid derived from cholesterol through the action of intestinal microorganisms. Its molecular formula is C₂₄H₄₀O₄, and its molecular weight is 392.57 g/mol. The compound's structure is characterized by a steroid nucleus with a hydroxyl group (-OH) at the 3rd position and a carboxylic acid group (-COOH) at the terminal end. Due to its microbial origin, the levels of 3-β-deoxycholic acid can serve as a biomarker for the composition and health of the gut microbiota. Abnormal levels may indicate disturbances in bile acid metabolism, which are associated with various diseases, such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and cholestasis.
