1,3-Diaminopropane (chemical formula: C₃H₁₀N₂) belongs to the class of amine compounds. It consists of a propane backbone with two terminal amino groups (-NH₂), with the amino groups attached to the 1st and 3rd carbon atoms of the carbon chain. 1,3-Diaminopropane is an important precursor in certain polyamine synthesis pathways, such as putrescine and spermidine, which play biological roles in cell proliferation and gene regulation. Therefore, the analysis of 1,3-diaminopropane and its metabolites helps to understand the regulatory mechanisms involved in cell growth and metabolic processes. In biomedical research, 1,3-diaminopropane is used in the synthesis of certain drugs, and thus its concentration directly affects the purity and efficacy of the drugs. By monitoring its concentration, the quality of raw materials and the accuracy of synthetic pathways during drug development can be ensured.
