    Glycohyocholic Acid Analysis Service

Glycohyocholic acid (GHCA) is a conjugated bile acid formed by the conjugation of hyocholic acid (HCA) with glycine. GHCA plays a crucial role in bile acid metabolism and gut microbiota interactions. Structurally, GHCA is characterized by hydroxy groups at the 3α, 6α, and 7α positions, which endow it with specific bioactive properties within bile acid metabolism. GHCA is synthesized in the liver through glycine conjugation and then secreted into bile, where it undergoes further metabolism by bacterial enzymes in the intestine. These distinct features make GHCA particularly valuable in studies of bile acid metabolism, liver health, and gut microbiota dynamics.
