    5-HIAA Analysis Service

      5-HIAA (5-Hydroxyindole-3-acetic acid) is a biogenic amine with the chemical structure C₁₀H₉NO₃, consisting of an indole ring with a hydroxyl and an acetic acid group. It is primarily derived from the metabolism of tryptophan, particularly in the metabolic pathway of the neurotransmitter serotonin. 5-HIAA plays an important role in biological activity as a metabolite of serotonin, participating in the regulation of mood and neural activity. Its metabolism mainly occurs in the liver and kidneys, where it is converted to inactive forms through oxidation and deacetylation. Analyzing the levels of 5-HIAA and its metabolites in plants and biological samples can provide important insights into the study of neuropsychiatric disorders, mood disorders, and plant growth regulation.
